Personality: Tsuna has shown the most growth throughout the series as an individual. He started out as a wimpy, clumsy, and insecure teenager who was a terrible student; skipping class, failing more tests than he passed, and being bullied for being “No-Good Tsuna”. He lived up to this name within his everyday life, and because of his weak disposition and lack of confidence, as well as will to defend himself, Tsuna allowed himself to be bullied and treated badly by almost everyone in the school. He had no friends, as he was too much of a loser that no one wanted to hang out with him.
He lead a pathetic life in those days, that is, until Reborn showed up on his doorstep – or, in more literal terms, inside his house randomly – and promptly informed him that he was to be the next, the Tenth, boss of the Vongola Family; a Mafia Family. Things started to get a lot more hectic after that.
In the beginning, Tsuna would never fight for any circumstances whatsoever. He was too afraid, didn't want to get hurt and didn't think he would be able to do anything in the first place. However, battle after battle after battle, Tsuna started to become stronger. As he started to gain friends, build relationships with people he was able to meet and get to know thanks to Reborn, his growth as a person began. He had people to worry about in his life now, people who would worry over his well-being as well, and Tsuna did not want to lose these precious people to anything or anyone, no matter if sometimes they were kind of crazy and dangerous to be around. They were his friends, and from them he was able to start to build the strength that he would need to fulfil his goal of protecting them through anything.
While Tsuna is not a prideful person, stemming from the fact that he, at most times, doesn't have that much confidence in his abilities, he does have his own sort of pride. His pride is his comrades. He treasures his friends and family above all else, including himself as he is more than willing to take their place in fights or defend them even if he will get hurt or there is the chance that he will die. In this regard, Tsuna is strong, because he will do anything for those he cares about even if he lacks the will to do things solely for himself.
Tsuna is an extremely compassionate individual, who cares a lot about the people around him. He hates fighting and anything to do with it, but will fight if it's to protect his friends or to stop bad people from doing evil acts. While he may seem like a gentle, small kid most of the time, watch out if you endanger anyone he cares about. This is the only time he will get truly furious and will fight with all he has, becoming unforgiving with a strength that is unexpected and devastating.
Above all else, he has a kind and tender heart. It is the reason why so many do not believe that he can be the boss of a Mafia Family, because he has such emotional weaknesses, but this selflessness and kindness and protectiveness of others – though sometimes called naivety and soft-heartedness – is what makes him strong, is what makes his friends stay with him, and is what makes him an incredible person deep down.
He's started to grow into his responsibilities more, and even if he doesn't want to be a Mafia boss and only wants to return to a normal way of life, he's becoming more and more confident in himself and his abilities. He knows he can protect those he cares about with his power, and that is what gives him more self-respect for himself, as this is his most important goal in life. He would never misuse his power for evil of any kind, always looking for another way for disputes to be settled rather than through unnecessary fighting or bloodshed. To Tsuna, power should be used to protect people, not to gain wealth or status or any other material gains.
Tsuna's still the easily frightened crybaby and terrible student with the tendency to overreact at even the slightest of frightening situations, but he is more than that. It may be hard for someone to realize this when they first meet him – maybe when he's serving a detention or when he's tumbling down a flight of stairs or maybe even when he's being chased down the street by a chihuahua – however, it's true. He's strong, and with the power his friends inspire within him, he can overcome anything.
After all, it was his friends who allowed him the chance to show his true self, who gave him the confidence he needed to become great, and they, as well as any and all friends he makes as they days go by, are the basis of what makes Tsuna who he is.
Fears: Tsuna is afraid of a lot of things. The more minor are varied; such as his fear of cockroaches, bats, frightening animals (which can be just about anything from a bear to a small dog depending), and there's still the fear of getting hurt himself. However, his biggest fears have little to do with his own personal well-being. Tsuna most fears his friends and family getting hurt and/or killed, losing them in some way, and not being able to protect them. These fears entwine with each other a lot, and show just what the people he cares for really mean to him. He has no qualms with sacrificing himself for any of his friends or family, because if they weren't in his life then he wouldn't be the person he is today, and they are the people who help him through everything. Without them... Tsuna really doesn't like to think of ever being without them, so it is his biggest fear that they will get hurt or killed or not want to be around him anymore, for any reason but mostly if he is unable to protect them.
Weaknesses: Again, Tsuna's weaknesses have a lot to do with his friends and family. He will do anything for them; even fight and die for them. He's too trusting for his own good sometimes, and forgives people their wrongdoings – even if they've done something terrible in the past or might do something terrible in the future. Though his Hyper Intuition does help him perceive whether or not someone is dangerous , which helps. In his normal state, Tsuna is not very strong. He's a fourteen-year-old, 5'2 kid, who has no actual training in fighting. He's not the smartest, in fact he's terribe in school, and because of all of these weaknesses he can be taken advantage of.
Mundane Strengths/Abilities: In his normal state, Tsuna really has next to little capabilities. He's no strategist or survivalist, is small and pretty physically weak, and being easily frightened he's more likely to run from a fight than stay (unless a friend were involved). His Hyper Intuition is the only thing that stays with him, even while he isn't in a Dying Will Mode, so at least he has the ability to perceive danger and illusions.
Sensitivity/Magical Ability: Flames – Tsuna is able to use Dying Will Flames, which are created from one's resolution. They are made of high-density energy directly connected to a person's life-force. There are many types of Flames that each have their own characteristics, appearances, and attributes.
Tsuna's Dying Will Flames are orange, because they are Sky Flames, which are flames meant for harmonization and is the rarest type, usually used by Mafia bosses. This is because it is the purest type of Flame. When in Dying Will Mode, these flames come from his forehead and he cannot manipulate them. However, in Hyper Dying Will Mode, they come from his X-Gloves/Vongola Gear, from his forehead, and from his Vongola Ring and Tsuna can manipulate them by using his equipment.
There are two kinds of Flames that he uses; soft Flames and hard Flames. Soft Flames are used for hovering and remaining stable in the air, because they are not extremely powerful, while hard Flames are the purest and are explosive, used for quick bursts of speed or power. Soft Flames are a lighter shade of orange and in contrast hard Flames are a darker, almost red colour.
Tsuna can also use Oath Flames, which are a combination of Earth and Sky Flames, but he can only use them when his Vongola Ring of the Sky Version X fuses with the Shimon Ring of the Earth belonging to Enma Kozato. These Flames are extremely powerful as they have the abilities of both Earth and Sky Flames, which means gravity manipulation as well as harmonization. They can also mend bones, coating them with Flames that make them even stronger than normal.
Dying Will Mode – This mode is activated when Tsuna is either shot with one of Reborn's Dying Will Bullets or when he swallows a Dying Will Pill. This Mode removes the external limiters that Tsuna has, giving him amazing strength and confidence. He then will do everything in his power to fulfil his Dying Will; the last thought of regret he had before he was shot with the Dying Will Bullet.
Hyper Dying Will Mode – This mode is activated when Tsuna is either shot with one of Reborn's Criticism Bullets or when he swallows two Dying Will Pills. It is different from Dying Will Mode in the fact that it removes the internal limiters Tsuna has, giving him heightened awareness and intuition, as well as allowing him to access his previously inhibited strength and speed.
Hyper Intuition – This is something said to be passed on through the Vongola Family line, to descendants who would inherit the title of Boss. It gives Tsuna the ability to read and predict another person's movements while in another Mode (he can't do this while in his normal state). It also gives him the ability to see through illusions a lot better than most people, though powerful ones still effect him, and seems to be able to help Tsuna understand a person, as it sometimes makes him unafraid of an enemy who is not actually evil even if doesn't actually know this consciously at the time.
X-Burner/XX Burner – The X-Burner is an attack in which Tsuna puts one hand behind him that is shooting out soft Flames for stability and support while the other hand is in front of him. This hand slowly pushes out hard Flames as Tsuna concentrates his Flames and locks onto the target with his contacts, before shooting out a high energy beam of hard Flames at the enemy. The XX Burner (which can only be used while Tsuna is using Natsu's Mitena di Vongola Primo) is a stronger attack than the X-Burner because Tsuna fires hard Flames from both hands in front of him, while the Gauntlets shoot out the soft Flames he needs to stay stabilized.
Zero Point Breakthrough: First Edition/Zero Point Breakthrough: Revised – Using this technique, which is originally a technique Vongola Primo, Giotto, used, he is able to take away another person's Flames and turn them into crystalline ice-like structure that will not harm him. The Revised version of this technique allows Tsuna to effectively absorb his opponents Flames or the Flames in attacks that are thrown at him and convert them into his own energy.
X-Stream – Tsuna circles the enemy rapidly from top to bottom in the air, Flames lagging behind to completely surround them.
Big Bang Axle/Burning Axle – While using Mitena di Vongola Primo, Tsuna concentrates the Flames into one hand to deliver a punch that has the same power as the X-Burner. The Burning Axle is a more powerful version of the Big Bang Axle that Tsuna can now use.
X Canon – While using the Cambio Forma Version Vongola Gear, Tsuna shoots two blasts with an X shape from one hand while the other is holding that arm.
Gravity Manipulation – Can only do this when he is able to use Oath Flames, so only when his Ring is combined with the Shimon Ring of the Earth. It's quite self-explanatory; Tsuna is able to manipulate the gravity around him
Vongola Box Ring: Leone di Cieli (The Sky Lion) Version Vongola, A.K.A “Natsu” - This is Tsuna's Vongola Box Weapon, which comes in the form of a baby lion that has Sky Flames for a mane. He is a lot like Tsuna personality-wise, and reflects his inner feelings (if Tsuna deep down didn't want to attack a person, Natsu wouldn't come out of his box, etc.) He treats Natsu much like a normal pet, by letting him out of his Box often and playing with him or letting him sleep in his bed.
Natsu's two battle forms (called Cambio Forma) are Modo Difesa (Defensive Mode) and Modo Attaco (Offensive Mode).
Cambio Forma Modo Difesa: the Mantello di Vongola Primo – Natsu changes into a long black cloak that is attacked to the X-Gloves. It is a shield that blocks out other Flame attacks by use of the Sky Flame's harmonization attribute.
Cambio Forma Modo Attaco: the Mitena di Vongola Primo - Natsu combines with the X-Gloves to turn them into Gauntlets which release soft Flames behind Tsuna (so that he can use the XX Burner) and can release an attack of all his Flames without having to charge them up.
Supply List: Vongola Ring of the Sky Version X – The Sky Vongola Ring (which is proof of the fact that Tsuna is he chosen canditate to be the Tenth Vongola Boss) has been combined with the Vongola Box Ring to create the Vongola Ring of the Sky Version X, which emits Sky Flames of its own. This is the current version of his Ring that Tsuna has.

Contact Lenses - Specially made contacts, which, while he is in HDWM, display a targeting system and a system that gauges the strength of the Flames in both X-Gloves. Using these contacts, Tsuna is able to maximize the power of the X-Burner and the XX Burner.
X-Headphones – Connected to the contacts, they serve the same the same purpose. They can also project holograms (like a hologram of Reborn from their Vongola hide-out so that he could be “with” Tsuna during the fight at the Melone Base even if he wasn't actually physically there).
X-Gloves Version Vongola Gear – This is the third version of the X-Gloves, which Tsuna presently has. They emit Sky Flames that Tsuna is able to control and manipulate to use his abilities. When in either of his other Modes, they are heat-resistant gloves, as well as a leg bangle around his thigh that attaches to a belt, with an “X” for he buckle, by a chain. When Tsuna is in his normal state or not using them, they look like ordinary, unsuspecting mittens.
Dying Will Pills – These are small, round blue pills that Tsuna takes in order to enter other Modes. They are held in containers that he keeps with him at all times.

Okay, this was starting to really not be funny any more.
Any minute now Reborn should show himself and reveal to him whatever test this was supposed to be and he could complete it, somehow, and then they could go back home and everything would be okay again. Normal. Before the next crazy thing happened, of course. Tsuna wasn't entirely unused to winding up in peculiar or plain messed up situations because the Arcobaleno felt the need to train him – or just wanted to have fun tossing him into those situations – so...
Really. Any minute now.
There was suddenly a loud sound nearby – or maybe it wasn't but he was just too on edge to realize the truth of it – and Tsuna startled, jumping an inch and exclaiming a squeal. "Hiiiiiii~ W-What was that?!"
He quickly clapped a hand over his mouth, because he hadn't meant to be so loud. His head turned this way and that, trying to find what the source of the sound was but nothing seemed to be in this room with him. It was so unsettling; to be in a place you weren't familiar with, absolutely alone for all you know. He hoped someone was here, but then if that person or those people were scary and terrible then he'd much rather be alone, yeah.
This definitely stopped being funny... since ever, and his heart was beating a whole lot faster than normal. His Intuition had been telling him ever since he'd woken up that something was off about this place, something really off because he felt more unsettled than he had in a long time, even before he tried and failed to open the front door to get out and found that it wouldn't budge.
"R-Reborn? Gokudera-kun? Yamamoto?" And because he last remembered being with him he also added, "Enma?"
His voice seemed to echo around with no answer given to his calls and he shivered.
Tsuna really didn't like this at all.

He is a lot like Tsuna personality-wise, and reflects his inner feelings (if Tsuna deep down didn't want to attack a person, Natsu wouldn't come out of his box, etc.) He treats Natsu much like a normal pet, by letting him out of his Box often and playing with him or letting him sleep in his bed. (More info in the above section).
Contact Lenses - Specially made contacts, which, while he is in HDWM, display a targeting system and a system that gauges the strength of the Flames in both X-Gloves. Using these contacts, Tsuna is able to maximize the power of the X-Burner and the XX Burner.
X-Headphones – Connected to the contacts, they serve the same the same purpose. They can also project holograms (like a hologram of Reborn from their Vongola hide-out so that he could be “with” Tsuna during the fight at the Melone Base even if he wasn't actually physically there).
X-Gloves Version Vongola Gear – This is the third version of the X-Gloves, which Tsuna presently has. They emit Sky Flames that Tsuna is able to control and manipulate to use his abilities. When in either of his other Modes, they are heat-resistant gloves, as well as a leg bangle around his thigh that attaches to a belt, with an “X” for he buckle, by a chain. When Tsuna is in his normal state or not using them, they look like ordinary, unsuspecting mittens.
Dying Will Pills – These are small, round blue pills that Tsuna takes in order to enter other Modes. They are held in containers that he keeps with him at all times.

Okay, this was starting to really not be funny any more.
Any minute now Reborn should show himself and reveal to him whatever test this was supposed to be and he could complete it, somehow, and then they could go back home and everything would be okay again. Normal. Before the next crazy thing happened, of course. Tsuna wasn't entirely unused to winding up in peculiar or plain messed up situations because the Arcobaleno felt the need to train him – or just wanted to have fun tossing him into those situations – so...
Really. Any minute now.
There was suddenly a loud sound nearby – or maybe it wasn't but he was just too on edge to realize the truth of it – and Tsuna startled, jumping an inch and exclaiming a squeal. "Hiiiiiii~ W-What was that?!"
He quickly clapped a hand over his mouth, because he hadn't meant to be so loud. His head turned this way and that, trying to find what the source of the sound was but nothing seemed to be in this room with him. It was so unsettling; to be in a place you weren't familiar with, absolutely alone for all you know. He hoped someone was here, but then if that person or those people were scary and terrible then he'd much rather be alone, yeah.
This definitely stopped being funny... since ever, and his heart was beating a whole lot faster than normal. His Intuition had been telling him ever since he'd woken up that something was off about this place, something really off because he felt more unsettled than he had in a long time, even before he tried and failed to open the front door to get out and found that it wouldn't budge.
"R-Reborn? Gokudera-kun? Yamamoto?" And because he last remembered being with him he also added, "Enma?"
His voice seemed to echo around with no answer given to his calls and he shivered.
Tsuna really didn't like this at all.
